Any of you Mates, know if there is some form of comparison table of wheel (rim) types, sizing and fitments for the L319's out there on the web?
I'm considering downsizing from my OEM 20" Landmark wheel set and purchasing a set of 18's for my US-market '16 LR4 (as to permit larger tire sizing options) and don't want to limit my research or decision to only wheels/rims which are marketed in the USA. I am aware of LR's oem 18" wheels as well as Compomotive's Rally and Rhino's but otherwise not aware of other brands I might want to consider. I also need to ensure fitment particularly with respect to the '16 model and its brake calipers.
My OEM wheel set is the LR Landmark, 20" Five Split Spoke Alloy in 20x 8.5J, EH2+53.
If a table or thread on this topic exists, i.e. comparison of wheels by type, sizing and fitment, I'd appreciate a reference/link to it. I did check the Links here in the AULRO forum but did not find one that specifically addresses wheel types, sizing and fitments.
Cheers,

Gday rewillia,
I don't know of a comparison table so to speak , but from what I have read about the D4 , the big issue seems to be the front brake calliper size , type , which limits the rim type.
You have used the search function so I would assume you already know the above info anyway.
Good luck with your search.

There are also Tuffant 18” steel rims available 18" Steel Wheels now available for Discovery 3, 4 (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/the-verandah/250701-18-steel-wheels-now-available-discovery-3-4-a.html)
Not sure if this tyre information is what you are after, it’s a bit out of date https://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/a34e48_6b346e52bcb14d97be529e1a26d93076.xls'dn=tyr es_17_19_20_inch.xls
and just for 18” tyres

Another LROCWA member has fitted his D4 with the Tuffants and has BFGs on them. They look good plus are well under the price for the GOE stuff....which doesn't seem to being supplied now anyway.
I'll stick with my OME 19s for now as I have new Maxxis 980s fitted and will wear them out before changing to another rim size.

Tuffant is another good option in 18" and available in USA soon as I understand it.
Plus there is fitment data on the Tuffant website > TuffAnt | FITMENT (https://www.tuffant.com/tyres)

The Land Rover OEM 18" rims will NOT fit on your 2016 LR4. They only fit the earlier D4's with the 2.7 litre diesel engine - once the 3.0 litre came out, the smallest OEM rims that would fit were 19".
The GOE rims referred to above can be purchased directly from the UK - the brand name is "Compomotive". GOE is the name of an Australian importer only.
The Compomotive alloys and the TuffAnt steel rims are the only 18" rims that I am aware of that will fit on the later D4's (without doing anything dodgy with an angle grinder).

There’s also a brake rotor and caliper offset bracket upgrade kit available from Britpart for the D4 that takes you to 360mm rotor diameter, meaning that 19” rims are getting tight, maybe hang onto the 20” rims then?
The Compomotives look great, I understand they fit the D4 because the inside rim “dishing” is deeper to allow the standard D4 brake rotors and calipers to fit, and the 18 rim size gives more tyre options.

I did hear from an indie that from what he'd seen the Compomotives may be subject to small cracks when used in the rough stuff. I may go for the TuffAnts sometime in the future as being steel they won't suffer from that at least.

I have a factory 20 inch wheel. 255/50/R20 on my 2015 D4. I do mostly highway and city driving with may be 10 to 15 % off road driving. Can I get a suggestion in what Kind of tyre should I look at? If AT, any suggestions on the brand or mode.
I searched in the forum but couldn’t find any suggestion for 20 inch wheel. I know that 18 or 19 inch is better but preferably would like to keep the expenses low considering that my off road driving are less.
Thanks

My previous LR, a 2012 L322, had 20 inch wheels and I fitted Pirelli Scorpion ATs, they increased the overall diameter a little, but only rubbed a a bit on full lock, otherwise I thought they were excellent. Possibly not as good in the wet as the OEMs, but gave you the option of going off-road.

Thanks for that. By rubbing did you mean the tyre touching the body of the vehicle when steering wheel is locked to either of the side?
How bad was it on your vehicle. Does it cause any damage to the vehicle or tyre?

Barely noticeable actually. It only rubbed a little on the inboard of the inside of the guard, on full lock and with the suspension at its lowest setting, no damage to either tyre or body. But that was on my L322, I can't say it would be the same on the Discovery, the clearances might be different.
Mind you, I have standard 19 inch wheels on the Discovery, with a separate set of off-road wheels and tyres (Maxxis Bravo light truck) in 255/55R19 and find the Maxxis in 19 inch entirely adequate, both on road and off-road, as long as I'm careful with pressures and drive to the road conditions.

I have got 255/50/R20 on my discovery 4. Will there be any impact other than my kilometre reading if I put new tyres of 255/55/R20? It’s basically 127.5 mm vs 140.25 mm. A difference of 1.275 cm or 2.55 cm overall.
