Hi everyone

148335148336148337

can anyone tell me please if it’s safe to drill this panel shown in the pics. This is where I would like to mount my solar controller for charging my Traxide dual battery system when we’re scamped. I am thinking of using the screws shown in the photo to secure the controller and I don’t want to damage anything that might be behind the panel.
Due to my Fourby Fitouts system being secured against the panel, as well as the cabling for the Traxide system being in the jack compartment, I can’t get my hand in there, or take the panel off, to see/feel if anything is behind it.
Any other ideas are welcome.
Hope you can help.
Cheers

Why not use strong double sided mounting tape instead? I use a 3m product that is incredibly strong for mounting such. Or strong self adhesive Velcro?

I’m averse to drilling holds in cars...

I believe that location would be safe for small screws. However I would probably be using that box section to attach a bracket for mounting the controller.

I will go with the Velcro tape. I was being a bit lazy with the screws as I had to go out and buy the Velcro. Another trip to Bunnings [bighmmm][biggrin]
Thanks guys
