just had an ex employee drop into the shop, nice guy that had a few relationship problems, that moved on of his own accord.
the poor soul tells me he his wife has finally left him for someone else and the new fella has bashed his two year old son almost to death.
the kid is brain dead apart from the auto motor stuff like breathing and heartbeat. the sections of the brain that control every other function are jelly. they expect the kid to die of a chest infection within weeks.
the boyfriend has been charged with assaulting a minor, if the child dies before the trial it will be manslaughter...
the wife has been committed to a mental health center as she appears to have had a nervous break down.
talk about being lost for words....

That scummy ***** should be charged for attempted murder. It must be if you beat a small child to that extent...even beating a small child at all!!

He'll probably get a minimal sentence. Perhaps his fellow gaol inmates will exact "justice".

I should think that's quite possible considering the nature of the crime. I'm told that inmates aren't much fans of people that do things like this to children.

I hope so. He should end up walking funny and taking baths (with a recently developed phobia of showers) for the rest of his life.

The guy who did it obviously has some VERY serious problems. How anyone can beat a baby or small child is beyond me.
It is more than likely that he probably suffered a similar upbringing :?
Whatever the sentence, I am sure it will do nothing to console the natural parents. The guilt the mother must be feeling would be unimagineable.
Very sad story.

How unbelievably sad....
It sort of brings your own "problems" back into perspective a bit...
I'm with you Ray, if anyone was to beat my kids in such a way... there is nowhere on the planet they would be safe......
Hopefully things will improve.... kids are unbelievably tough... but it sure doesn't sound very hopeful

Why on earth do these spineless cowards pick on the defenceless? It upsets me to the n-th degree when I hear these stories. Raising kids has been the the absolute highlight of my life. That is why I am still involced with kids in the Navy Cadets. It is such a great reward to see young people develop into confident young adults.
And this 2 year old bub has been robbed of a chance to make his mark on the world.
Sorry, I'll stop now. I'm too upset.
Rotting in hell is far too good for scum like this.

That is so sad!
I cannot imagine what must have been going on in his head to do such a thing! He must be really screwed up!
Sometimes the world can be a very beautiful place, and sometimes it can be very very sad!

That is a dreadful story, any child is totally innocent and very trusting and reliant of adults and that is the absolute height of trust destruction for a child.
These "people" who perpetrate these crimes in my opinion should be subject to a long slow torture to burn into them the absolute horror they have put the child into.
I have had a long association with teaching children (aside from my 4 who are now all married and have their own children) through the scouting organisation and each child was a wonderful adventure to impart what knowledge and information I could, how anyone could hurt/bash a child is totally beyond me.
I've vented my feelings............................

Been through a very similar situation although no where near as bad an outcome with my eldest son and his stepfather, end result was about 11 stitches in my sons head and his mother (my ex) had her new husband charged and kicked him out of the house.
But for some unknown reason despite what went on and the charges that she had laid against him she allowed him to move back in and now the court case is over and he agreed to attend councilling etc as directed by the court there is nothing I am able to do about it.
I've always suspected that he used to give my ex a bit of a touch up every now and then, but never worried as he was her choice so she should pay the price but I never thought it would get directed to the kids, but if you have ever seen Once Were Warriors then you would understand the mentality or lack of it of the man.
And before you suggest it I have spent countless thousands trying to get them out of there, but while ever my ex is getting three wages coming into the house (both theirs and child support) she does everything in her and the governments power to successfully fight it.
Anyway thats enough of my woes.

Unfortunately we have a LAW system that is run by lawyers and dick head old judges when we all know we need a change to a JUSTICE system. Until this system is fixed with real punishment for offenders and low lives, they wont wake up and smell the roses.
Police let teenagers get a way with everything except murder as all the other stuff they do Police are not interested as it is to much paper work for them to be bothered with to dealing with the situation. So the younger generation know they will get away with just about anything.
Of course there are not enough Police around anyway.
Its time for people to get up and make some noise or parents will just have to put up with there loved ones getting bashed, raped, or run over by Hoons.
If you live on the Gold Coast well you need to go back to the drawing board and elect a new council would be a start.
