Well, my dear fellow AULROians, the time has come! I have traded my Disco for an enemy weapon! I now am the proud owner of a new Try-too dual cab. I would have gone for the D130 except it won't fit in my garage and I'd have a great deal of trouble getting it into some of the places I have to park. Already I miss the big centre console, the big door pockets and the overhead storage I really loved on the Disco. I don't miss the awkward drivers foot rest or the extortionary parts prices... :? $800 for a thermo fan? C'mon! https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

But the new beast will suit my work purposes much better, and business decisions are business decisions.

But fear nought my faithful brethren, for there are times when we must take up enemy arms in order to win the war! I have and never will lose the faith of the best damnned 4x4 ever produced.

My plan is now to save up my Pacific Pesos and eventually invest in a EMLR. I'd really like one of those 6x6's the Army are using at the moment... https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ They would have to be the maddest thing on 6 wheels! Then I can happily go bush again without having to worry about the delicate duco...

So, once the canopy goes on the new beast, the AULRO sticker will go on the back window. That'll keep the non-believers guessing!

I'll still be here putting in my two bob's worth, though. Besides, I might need a real fourby to drag me out of a bog...

Might not always be pleasant, but you have to do what you have to do https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
Landy's will always be there, and as Mick said, you'll be back https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Hmm, and here's me who just seconds before reading this post PM'ed you including a question:

"PS How's the Disco going?" :!:

Bloody hell things happen quickly around here.

I dunno if in all fairness I;d be able to invite you to the next AULRO do at my place (when she lets me have one LOL).

On the other hand, I will do, just to tease you with the sight of Landies parked up and down the street. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

This is like the feeling you get when a mate sleeps with a tart they picked up at a pub, despite good advice to the cpontrary.

Just wait til yoiu wake up in the morning :!: 8O

With a monicker like Moses - you should know the first commandment.....

Thou shalt drive no other vehicle before Landy
Nor own, nor envy, nor openly discuss any other make.

OK- commence the stoning and public shaming

As Derryn said "shame, shame,shame"

Bitsashiiti Tryaton - you can try and pull a ton - but that's all you'll do - have a try and have a pull.

As MickG said "you know you'll be back"

I would've modified the garage and stopped going to places the D130 didn't fit in

Was about to post this myself https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

I'd excavate, lengthen, cut, shut.. even MOVE before going to the DARK SIDE

I even built a 3.1mtr doored garage at the last place for my Landy...

Calculated to allow the vehicle and loaded roof rack in and out!

Cheers
Mike

Moses,

That's biblical

I would demand your immediate removal from the forum but you plan to get another one and it was a work thing so i will let this one slide. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Mate, these things happen, sometimes you need to look at the other brands when a land rover vehicle doesnt meet your needs. Matt

Well done Moses
No I kid you not!!!!!
We have a 1988 Trytoo 4wd dualcab,but with a 1992 2.5TDI Pajahero motor.
The Trytoo has reached its useby date well and truely,340000ks and 3 motors.
It has been such a good vehicle,we have put 260000ks on it,the motor failures for the 2.5lt 4D56 were well known,I only put second hand imports in when needed
Out of all the "new" 4x4 dualcabs, the Trytoo is the only one with 4 wheel discs and ABS,it actually looks the part, check out a tojo UG LUX    has the runs on the board with the running gear, the 2.8 is a strong motor.I think this is what we will be upgrading our Trytoo in the future, after all our old banger is quite a performer off-road,the newbie can only be better. The japper 4x4 dualcab setup really suits us as a second vehicle, shame Landrover hasnt got a match.

To make a decision like that, must have taken you days, if not weeks, of a LOT of extremely careful and exacting thought! 8O

So, by the way, how are you recovering from your frontal lobotomy? https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
