Previously I wrote about my ‘11 2.4 revving up on gear changes and driving me bananas.
Endless googling threw up some interesting options as to the cause, but 1 seemed to be simple and worth a try.
This was to unplug the sender on the clutch master and bypass with a wire. I did this and the revving stopped as the ecu thinks the clutch is always engaged? And doesn’t send the message along that a gear is being changed. It also obviously doesn’t hold the revs between changes any more which you get used to very fast.
So the question is wether the sender unit is faulty ($75) and keeping it unplugged will do damage or is it something more sinister in the ecu. I do have a BAS reprogram on it but even when taken back to factory still does the over revving- it’s random as well.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers
