Anyone able to confirm that the Febi Bilstein Nr.34608 ATF is suitable for the D3/4 ZF 6HP transmission? It's being sold as a third party version of the genuine Land Rover product with the 'TYK500050' part number sticker on it. I couldn't find any previous mention of it searching through here on AULRO. Made in Germany like ZF products?

Sorry, no experience with that one if compatible. Perhaps an email to Febi-Bilstein as per label?
Their website does list the ZF as per D3 / D4 as one of the applications
febi | 34608 | Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) | bilstein group partsfinder (https://partsfinder.bilsteingroup.com/en/article/febi/34608'make=Land+Rover)
they sell it in 20l drums too. Be interesting if price competitive with genuine ZF or other aftermarket alternatives such as Penrite BMV.

The local Land Rover parts bloke, Alan at British 4WD < Transmission Fluid 6 Speed Auto 1Ltr TYK500050 (http://www.british4wd.com.au/transmission-fluid-6-speed-auto-1ltr-tyk500050) > is selling it for D3/4 6HP oil changes. He also seems to only sell the plastic sump pans though...
Confirmed today that local Repco brand can get the proper ZF Lifeguard 6 749626-1 (for 1L, 20L being the only other option) from Melbourne so will just order that through my account and play it safe instead!

Good move, i am still 100% of the opinion that lifeguard should be used in these gearboxes. I am pretty certain the ZF engineers know what they are doing....
