Hi
I was driving home today and all the sudden the Brake Light starting flashing and the yellow warning light came on solid (not flashing)
When I arrived home the park brake would not activate, I checked the fuse No 41 5amp and it was fine. I put a diagnostic tool on but didn't help
Any clues, could it be the switch under the brake peddle ?
Thanks if anyone knows
I did have a look at past messages but only found hand brakes that would not release, that is not he case here
Regards Chris

I would say it needs to be serviced/adjusted and currently is too far out of adjustment to operate.

So all good now ?
Hi

Yes seems to be fine now, although I didn't do much, I just gave the wires a wiggle and came good straight away
I guess I should pull the plug out and clean up the contacts
THANKS
Cheers Chris

I'd throw a new switch in, they are cheapish , apparently one from the ford dealer is better value or ebay. They are apparently known to cause problems.

I doubt its the brake pedal switch but for $25 from ford its worth a shot.

More likely the handbrake switch in the centre console known to fail.

The problem returned so took it to LR specialist today at St Peters in Sydney and
he found that the brake shoes were not aligned correctly or required adjustment
also the petrol engine had several faults on the code reader which he reset

Lets see how it goes now

HI
Update, Amber light on and park brake light flashing again
So far I have replaced the foot switch and hand switch
Mechanic has replaced the Actuator and adjusted all the park brakes
and cleared the fault codes,
It has been ok for a week and fault has returned again as it usually does
Any clues ?
