Hello all, Have left the D2 and now the owner of a 89 Rangie, building from near scratch so on a learning curb.
Will have plenty of questions in the near future, hunting a few parts which ive posted in the wanted section.
Just putting the front and rear lockers in, next is changing the 3.5 over for 3.9, any hints and advice is welcome.
Have a great day to all

welcome. How come you are doing an engine swap - is the 3.5 cooked?

Low Ks. Its only done approx 65,000. , The 3.5 is running fine.
An excuse to give the engine bay a good clean up :)

Hey,
I also have an 89. Spent a bit of time on it and know most of the way around the damned thing.
The only issue with that model year, was it seemed to be a bridge between new and existing parts, so just be aware when you order new parts.
Eg; I got caught out with the power steering pump, the one fitted was the same as 90 onwards, where the one listed in parts stopped in 88 some time.
Hope you have fun with it!

Get yourself a copy of RAVE manuals, you will need them to rectify the electricals and as iterated previously, to help you discern exactly what parts you need for your chassis number.
be aware of the crossover of metric and imperial threads, especially where a subassembly or large part has been replaced with superceeded parts.
Brakes can have metric and imperial threads, engine parts the same, and then there are all manner of miscellaneous bits n pieces which could have been swapped at some point in the vehicles prior existence.
welcome to your nightmare.
