G'day All,
Anyone had their injectors overhauled or replaced ? If so where did you get it done or source the new ones.
Cheers Ean

I have had to replace them, round $500 ea (or less at the moment) from U.K suppliers.
Siemens/VDO/Continental for most models, the later D4 went to a Bosch (made in ex-soviot cheapocran)
although try United Fuel Injection down here in Perth W.A (great eastern hiway) I use them for a lot of "need it right now" type jobs and they always come up with the good at a good price.

Maybe try some cost effective maintenance treatment. They are happy to take a call to discuss options for your particular problem.

Out of interest, why are you replacing them all? From what i've heard, most people looks for injector balancing offset figures on the IID tool and see which one needs to be replaced.
If you decide to go down the injector cleaner route instead (if the figures aren't that bad), I would give caution, I've destroyed fuel lines in the past by using that stuff.
There's kits available that inject the cleaner straight into the rail, bypassing the fuel lines you eliminate internal corrosion, i'd be looking into those instead after what i went though.
I'm at 240K kms with original injectors so jw.

The JLR injector numbers don't co-relate the IID tool and cylinder numbers, so you'll need to use the attached document to figure out what's what. 149177
Basically if you enter the IID tool order as follows 362514, you get:
3 6
2 5
1 4
You'll be looking at the engine layout with 1 and 4 being the front.

i have just replaced both low and high pressure fuel pumps , the car now has a new fault which is showing low injector pressure but only when hitting 3500RPM. The local Indy up here suggested that maybe have an injector issue which i am struggling to see it will be an injector but thought I would try and get an idea on if people have sourced locally or from UK
i myself think it a fault with the new HPFP but I am not doing the job and I base that only on what I have read .

Rimmer Bros out of the UK have OEM injectors at very reasonable prices, for some reason injectors for cylinders 3 and 5 are twice the cost as for the rest. They include the fuel pipe, crush seal washers and injector clamps. I priced all 6 at one time late last year, was about $2500 all up from memory.
Not too bad if you consider that TLC-200 series injectors are $1200 each, and it's a V8....
Others on here have replaced just the fuel pipes and crush washers (when replacing cracked inlet manifolds), as these washers are single use and will leak if re used.
I spoke with Bunbury injector service, they told me that the injectors are not serviceable.

I also doubt injectors, what all 6?? pfft.
*Has the fuel pressure sensor on the passenger side rail been replaced?
*Is your engine orig Land Rover or a Territory engine (i just cant remember mate).
*When they replaced the HPFP did they do up the retaining nut for the belt drive gear?
*Did they take a PSI reading for fuel delivery for the low pressure pump? specs I think says 5 psi, most good ones I see 8 psi

Ok thanks interesting , my quote from them was 2900 pounds which I think is a typo as that makes the injectors $1k each.
See what the local guru says tomorrow and will go from there ,

[QUOTE=DazzaTD5;2891317]I also doubt injectors, what all 6?? pfft.
*Has the fuel pressure sensor on the passenger side rail been replaced? yes with a new unit and pipes when HPFP was replaced
*Is your engine orig Land Rover or a Territory engine (i just cant remember mate). Original engine @ 162,000kms
*When they replaced the HPFP did they do up the retaining nut for the belt drive gear The car drives well until you put the boot in and get to 3500rpm then faults on low injector pressure fault. its a new pump and drive belt
*Did they take a PSI reading for fuel delivery for the low pressure pump? specs I think says 5 psi, most good ones I see 8 psi HPFP was replaced after the original fault of low fuel rail pressure made the car dangerous to drive as it would randomly fault , last time it faulted my wife was driving with a barrier on the side of the road and a 3 trailer road train coming behind her. She doesn't know how the truck never hit her. The low pressure pump was tested and had 7psi at idle , that's why it wasn't replaced first , after fitting the new HPFP the car faulted, the gauge was fitted and the car driven and it was noticed that at idle there was 7psi but driving the car just before the fault would occur the pressure would go into a vaccum. it was then decided to fit a new LPFP which seen no fault register until the car got to 3500rpm then it would fault with low injector pressure code. That's where we are at now.
I must have not worded my original post correctly as I have never said I need to buy 6 injectors , so I just wanted to make that clear... That's not directed at you either Dazza as I always enjoy reading your very knowledgable posts.
I was asking if anyone had had their injectors serviced or replaced as a forward thinking process nothing more.
Thanks for the reply
cheers Ean
