Go with gear box oil inspiration or replacement. (Input shaft bearing )

Mine had a rattle caused by weak clutch springs, but I'm not sure if that's the noise you are describing. There was an LR upgrade to the clutch which costs about $1600 from memory.

Mine needed the clutch replaced early on under warranty too, rattling springs at idle.
Its ok so far now after 95000km touch wood.

80k it'll be knackered. Haven't seen a quiet one yet under 100k

Yes im sure will need another clutch sometime, I sense the thrust bearing may no longer be 100% but it’s subtle. There’s no spring rattle as yet. 👍

I assume the OP means 80,000KM (not 8000).
So do the adapter shaft at the same time as clutch as at that km's its about the fail... prolly on your next run up to the shops to get milk for morning coffee.

Hi, if an MY15 then full warranty went to say end 2018 but then you still have 3 more years of partial warranty in that you can claim one 100% repair in year 4, then one 50% repair in year 5 and finally one 25% repair in year 6, apart form paint warranty which goes the full 6 years. This may not be enough but can ask your dealer, likewise at my dealer I get free Rover Assist as long as they service it once a year, so I still get this on my MY13 CC. Good luck.
