Hey guys!

Amongst the many millions of things I want/need to do to my old RRC and the trillions of things to do around the house, I have been given a day to do something I want. And as much as that is to disappear into the bush somewhere, I thought I'd get onto one of the projects I have been hanging onto for some time.

Whilst up north I scavenged a ARB winch bar which needs some TLC and a brand new Runva 11XP for half price.

The plan is to cut the hoops off, remove the fairlead bracket, weld a plate for strength where the winch mounts and a couple of brackets for a light bar and spot lights.

Before I jump in I have been dummy fitting everything to ensure 1) it looks half neat and 2) it all fits without chopping the car in any way. So far though the biggest problem I'm having is where I mount the solenoid or control box.

I can mount up front in the middle like the millions of others out there, but I have reservations regarding security of setting it off and air flow to the radiator. I have played with mounting it to the winch but tilted towards the radiator, but with my measurements may cut into the grill and rub on trans/PS coolers. My engine bay is a bit busy as it is, so I was hoping someone could push me in another direction that works.

Obviously there has to be access if the remote thing decides to not work or there is a problem.

I will be mounting a isolator switch somewhere in the circuit, but will decide where and how once the bar is mounted.

Any help and advice would be appreciated and pictures would be super better!

Cheers..

You will have to rotate the gearbox so that you can access the clutch lever, The way you have it now won't be much chop.[thumbsupbig]

So I made a bit of a cardboard mock up spotlight mount, as since I have rotated the winch gearbox, my previous plan was not going to work as wanted.

The other unfortunate issue is where I want to put the light bar, it will be in the way of the clutch lever in the free spool position. Not to the point it stops disengagement, but it will take a conscience move to engage the winch again.

Still not sure as to where to mount the control box though.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190311/8e06a8346be5686e96e74def7cc90685.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190311/09d0dc9d17f9eb5e9b6d8c6ee509dfbe.jpg

I mounted my isolator in engine bag up near the brake booster. There is a switch of sorts to it near battery. I then extended the winch control plus into the interior.
All I basically have to do is when offroad is switch isolator to on then if I need winch plug it in cabin
