View Full Version : Subwoofer with drawers?

So I have an android head unit on the way and am thinking on upgrading the audio system. (Standard D3 SE system) Is the vehicle pre-wired for the subwoofer? Is a waste of money if you have rear drawers? Does the speaker sit behind the carpet or do you need to cut a hole?

Thanks

I'm not sure about the sub but mine sounds pretty good as is.

No, the sub still works really well with rear drawers in place. My drawer unit is quite high.

Sub is mounted within tailgate, so one could be added just by removing the interior trim pieces.

Cheers,
Scott

Thanks. I was in the tailgate to replace actuator recently. Just wondering if the entire carpet goes back on or whether you cut a hole in the carpet.

Carpet stays complete without holes.

Yes

I don’t have one installed but I have seen where it goes in the tailgate. Might pull it apart again to see if the wiring is there like the steering wheel contols even if you don’t have the audio buttons. I don’t know much about sound systems but I suppose I would need an amp if I am going to install a subwoofer.
