OK, reading through the D5 forum, associated Instagram and Facebook is great for selecting the components for the new build.
Vehicle on order for June delivery in Sydney Australia is an SE SD6 7 seat with 4 Zone Air, important as the new engine, 7 seats and 4 Zone air have removed areas to locate new equipment.
The build is as follows;
1. Dual Battery
2. Air Compressor
3. Rhino Pioneer SX Platform
4. Ultravision light bars to Pioneer
5. Nitto Ridge Grapplers
Rang ARB and no help from Head Office, they only connect you with a Franchise.
Tires to be sorted with 275/65R20 126Q, 275/55R20 120Q (816mm), 285/50R20 116S (794mm) or 285/55R20 122Q(828mm). All available from Bob Jane.
LR Factory fit 255/55R20 8.5” 110W Good Year Eagle F1 (788.5mm).
Dual Battery could be a JTS Lithium 100Ah Power Easy Pack, location was the 4 Zone Climate or 7 seat underfloor in other builds, not available for this.
ARB Twin Compressor, I am yet to see the engine bay of an SD6 Discovery 5, and believe the LH front space on the TD6 is not available. A portable unit maybe my only option.
Rhino Pioneer, contacted Bars N Racks Brookvale, sent them the fitting instructions for the UK genuine Versatile Roof Rack, I’m interested in fitting the platform without roof bars to reduce height. The genuine part allows the Sunroof to open, the Rhino would not. The Rhino has an ecosystem of parts to add accessories, it would be a custom fit on the VRR. There would be a good reason LRA does not import this part.
Any and all feedback would be great to minimise grief. Many thanks in advance.

I haven’t seen under the bonnet of a SDV6 either but I understand there to be an extra air box on the driver side where the TD6 has space for a compressor. I think you might struggle finding space for it.
The main battery is in the boot on the driver side. The 3rd row seats as well as the extra aircon unit in the boot on the passenger side may limit where to put a second, unless there is enough space to put it next to the main battery.
As for the roof rack, The Rhino option requires factory roof rails to be on the car. Did you specify these as they are an option (they were on the 2018 SE).
You mention the wheel size of an HSE, the SE standard has 19 inch wheels. Did you upgrade them to 20 inch wheels?

Thanks for the reply Ron,
Spoken to the Dealer to locate the next SD6 available for inspection with the Service Manager to locate voids.
Roof bars are an option on the 2019 SE, not ordered, so will be Dealer fit if required.
Reluctantly upgraded (well they do look great!) to the 20” 5011 in black as there are not many off road tyres available in 19”, and 18” will not accomodate the calipers on the SD6.
Have you seen the new Yokohama Geolandar X-MT GEOLANDAR X-MT | GEOLANDAR X-MT | Extreme Mud Terrain Rock Crawling Tire (https://www.yokohamatire.com/tires/geolandar-x-mt)

Hi Darin
I missed that was your first post, welcome to the forum.
If you need the roof rails, you can fit them yourself as well. A member on disco5.co.uk has just done that and taken photos along the way. Instructions are available on the accessories LR website.
Looking at those tyres, you'd be off road a lot more than I am. I'll be fitting ATRs but not MT. Indeed the 20 inch wheels give you more tyre options than the 19 inch, although I believe 18 inch aftermarket rims are now available.
When you get to see under the bonnet of an SD6, take a picture and post it here. Maybe others can see options that may not be obvious for fitting accessories like a compressor - that's the beauty of this forum.

Ron,
yes farm truck first and foremost, then touring or ski fields. I have read the forums regarding TPMS codes and crossed off two sets of tyres for road/ off road duty as the original TPMS codes once replaced will not reload without a Dealership visit. Could have not ordered TPMS and solved that problem.
The Yokohama are not available in Australia yet and have good reviews, not for the family driver.
The Nitto Ridge Grappler is Nitto’s latest release, a hybrid of AT and MT, reportedly quieter than the AT Terra Grappler and better wet road performance. As with all reviews, better finding someone with them fitted and getting an answer first hand.

With ARB H/O..maybe try and make sure you speak to someone or ask for somebody's email in barwork development, say you want to add to the list of people requesting D5 barwork be made etc. ECB make one but good to have options. Also rhino say one is in development on website too so maybe good to shoot and email to them too, thread on that here also.

Hi All,
Started the build, Ridge Grapplers on, first drive at 70kms and compared to the Eagle F1 AT which were whisper quiet, there is a noticeable increase in road noise. It’s not a roar, just not whisper quiet.
First hurdle, electrician pulled out of the build, not confident they could do the job. Waiting for REDARC to recommend a tech competent with RedVision and or Discovery 5, would wish to start the project with one or the other, if not both.
Rhino SX Platform (1,528 x 1,376) with Vortex SX leg, no Backbone available for D5.
First question to members with light bars/ aerials with roof platforms, did you cable thru the grommets under the finishing strips, thru the tailgate wiring to the cabin as Paul Muscat did, or under door rubbers?
