Hi, I have a D4 with 19" (255/55 R19). Can I use a 265/60R18 as a second spare to get me out of trouble?
What damage am I likely to do?
Advice appreciated

IF you just want to take a 19" carcase, instead of a full spare,i know someone who has one here in Brisbane.

Getting back to your question, probably be OK,as long as you drive slowly and not far.

After many long remote area trips,i have never ever changed a tyre, yet alone two,so now i just take a second carcase,as well as an aircompresser and tyre plugs. But i have always run LT tyres.

Yes i know one day Murphy will catch me out[bigsad]

I would have no hesitation using it, however make sure that it fits at least the rear. If your D4 is a MY10-MY11 3.0 with original alloy rear calipers then a LR 18" wont fit.

As long as it has the same rolling diameter it won’t know. If it’s smaller or larger in diameter then you run the risk of annoying the terrain response etc. For example, a smaller tyre will seem to the terrain system like that wheel is constantly slipping/losing traction as it will be rotating at a higher RPM. There’s some variation expected, but too much will cause issues.

I have a my14 tdv6 19in rims. I use my previous 18 in disco 3 as a second spare. It will only fit the rear though, because of the callipers.
