The server popped a cpu around 21:30 on the 27th March and shut the place down with database errors for several hours while the fault was tracked

all seems good again after several hiccups getting it back online

PayPal

are changing their policies with regard to refunds

up till now when someone requests a refund they have also refunded the fees i pay for that original transaction.

that will no longer be happening very shortly they tell me.

as a result, if i need to refund a payment, it will be less the fees that paypal will be keeping for the transaction

also with regards auto renewing subscriptions

they have caused me endless hassles trying to maintain them in a business like manner.

No wonder may large businesses are giving them the flick....

I have setup a direct debit facility through GoCardless that actually allows You and Me to control it so there is no double dipping etc as there is with paypal on some auto renewing subscriptions.

the system is being hammered by crawlers so i have fitted in a script in an attempt to stop them impacting the system the way they currently have been

hopefully they wont cause any issues...

they may if you use some obscure browser ..

if they do, let me know...
