I discovered in my Discovery (🥁) 2 td5 2 big rust holes in the top of the bonnet, close to the windscreen, due to the car standing outside for a longer time and rain not being washed away. I fixed the holes pretty good with silicon and the amount of water reduced in heavy rains.
I thought the passenger side was okay, no rust holes and it seemed okay.
While driving as a passenger I knowledged water coming in also on the passenger side, but i can't see any damage to the car. Anyone got similar problems or any idea where the water is coming from?

Cheers
Marc

water coming in also on the passenger side,

Your windscreen wipers poke through a plastic cover. Water might enter if the plastic is cracked over the air intake.

First and last time buying a land rover..
didn't expect everything to be plastic and to break so easily..https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190328/8fd85e48e0d9386b156f7d1e52bced24.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190328/7c5c82a2088e0d2b33d17c07e3c458a7.jpg

You can get that broken plastic bit replaced when you claim a new windscreen IF you play your cards right, I did[thumbsupbig]

Just silicon it if you’re not overly worried about it.

Per Gavin, this is always worth checking in case you actually have two leaks.

Not exactly a Land Rover thing. Most cars from the 90’s onwards have a lot of plastic in them. End of the day plastic gets brittle and breaks. The D2’s are now between 15 to 21 years old, so yes, any plastics on the external of the vehicle have probably by now had a lot of sun exposure and likely only just holding in there at best. Will be similar for most other vehicles of this vintage regardless of brand.

On a side note, fibreglass replacements are available through eBay from Malaysia, which might be more long term lasting.
