Hey guys,
I am hoping to get a recommendation or a suggestion for a place that repairs ECUs.
Specifically the one for my 3.5lt flapper.
Bonus points for somewhere here in Adelaide.
I have found a mob in the UK that repair them, but it's a bit pricey for me.
Thanks in advance.

This mob used to reair 14CUX and the earlier flapper one. I don't know if they still do.

I had a look at that site just now and it is a part of Cooldrive now. Spoke to a fella and he said they have repair centres in Melbourne and Brisbane.
It also costs $180+ for them to test and inspect the ECU, then they table a report or list of repairs and the costs.
The other thing is you have to be from a automotive business for them to accept it. They don't do off the street types.. lucky I have that ABN!
I might hold out sending it to them for the moment while I gather some other options AND money.

What’s wrong with it?
Most of the problems I have seen with these are dry jointed solder connections on the main drive transistors and the multiplug connections.
I have a long time ago repaired them.
its not hard provided you can solder!

There is a guy in the Rover Club here in Brisbane who resoldered the dry joints in the Rover SD!'s . After he did them no more problems. Not sure if he still doese them , will ask next time I see him .

BradExactly what you described is the issue.
I have two of them (well three now counting the one in the car) and they both have similar but different issues and it stems from dry solders and weak transistors on the injector circuit.
I had a thread up not long back about the issues I was having getting my RRC to run. One ECU would run really rich and then eventually flood out if the rpm weren't kept up, the other ECU would run when it felt like it which turned out to be heat related.
With a mates help (over WhatsApp) we did end up identifying some spots that would have caused problems and crudely I resoldered them. It worked and was pretty good untill you spent more than ten minutes at around 80kmh when it would either just die or do a reduced power thing until the ECU cooled down. Mind you I was in the top end so cooling down isn't really an option.
I purchased a third off eBay and it got me back here to sa, but it doesn't feel the best, so I was hoping to have the original one fixed and put it back in.
Also I don't have the patience or equipment to do a proper job of DIY repair. My mate who is more competent than me with electronics unfortunately doesn't have the right equipment either. Just want to ensure it is done properly.

They are the same circuit boards with different tune chips, so I'm sure it wouldn't be any different to what he has already done.
Any help would be appreciated, cheers..
