Hi All,

We have 2 nights to spend between Charters Towers and Cairns and would like to visit one or more of the National Parks in the area ie. Paluma Range, Koombooloomba, Tully Gorge, Wooroonooran etc.

I don't know the area at all ... and haven't much time to investigate .... what would you recommend? Our preference would be to camp in one location for the 2 nights and have some relatively easy (ie. less than 10kms) walks we could do from the campsite. Pref toilets ... showers a bonus. We have a slide-on camper on the 130 - so vehicle based camping only.

We'll be there 20 and 21 April - so smack in the Easter long weekend. We may have left our run too late! Any advice appreciated.

Babinda Creek and The Boulders for camping, close to Bartle Frere and Bellendon Ker, or Goldsborough Valley Camping.

Would prefer somewhere we can book so we are assured a spot. The Babinda Boulders looks like a fine spot ... but I assume will be in demand over Easter given the sharp pricing (ie. free)

Goldsborough Valley Camping is booked out.

We can get in at the Henrietta Creek campground ... that is looking like a good option.

Blencoe Falls, Murray Falls. Problem is, anywhere you turn west between Townsville and Cairns is pretty good.
