Hi all

I was driving along the above road for the first time in many years yesterday and noticed this series 1 parked in a paddock. It had clearly been there quite some time.

I was wondering if it is of interest to anyone here or if anyone had approached the owner to see if they wished to part with it? It is located at 935 Jenolan Caves Rd. The property is surprisingly called Ant Hill and is about 10 kms east of the Great Western Highway.

Unfortunately I have too many projects and not enough shed space for another Land Rover just now..

You should have approached the owner first before making the whole world aware of it, unless it's parked on a public road . No respect for peoples property.

Yes unfortunately people have issues with people and scrappies visiting when no one is around and helping themselves.

A bloke called in once, asking if one of my Land Rovers, which were parked well out of sight, was for sale. I asked him how he knew I had Land Rovers, said he spotted them flying over.

There is a well know Land Rover person just up the road from me (I have bought a couple series ones off him over the years) who had a gyrocopter for that very purpose. He and his son would fly around looking for them.

I was speaking with a tour bus driver about the one on the Caves road and he said it has been there for the eight years he’s been doing the run.

To be fair on the OP, the S1 in question is parked in a very prominent position, next to what is a fairly busy road. It has also been there for many, many years and I don’t think it has ever moved.

It would have had an awful lot more exposure from the thousands of cars that have driven past it over the years than it will have on this forum.

Cheers,
Jon
