Are you watching the sensationalist, uninformed, guesswork coverage on Ch7, Bob?
What a load of verbal diarrhea!

I've given up watching 9 and 7 news, Foxtel as well. 9 and 7 would sensationalise a fly crawling up the wall.

idle the car waiting for daughter to hurry up to get her to school .. see the smoke, and thought that's not normal!
I live about 5 or k's south of the location, but the smoke had enough time to travel higher up to not affect us ground dwelling types.
Smoke travelled a South westerly line, but from my perspective looked elevated enough not be a danger to us.
Not sure about any high rise units tho. I reckon the commission housing in the Flemington area may have had something to worry about.
I was out at about 830-ish AM, and smoke was still thick black, daughter at school just before 9 .. had to nip into a store to get a new vacuum, out of there at about 930-ish, and on the way back home(from the Flemo area) .. smoke totally gone.
So (from what I saw) the fireye's had done a fairly decent job of it! :th3:
