Trans Troubles

Hi All

Had an auto trans service on my 99 TD5 Disco done a few months ago.

My auto had an issue with a gluggy gear change. The auto mechanic (who I am now taking to court for ssues related to poor workmanship ) said he could corrrect the fault by the fitment of a spring into the valve body

Has anyone also tried this spring with their autotrans.

Can't say it did anything for me. I had it fitted, but did not notice any real change. ( But did notice that my wallet was a whole lot lighter )

This service created more problems than it fixed. Now I have issues with leaking auto trans fluid

Sounds like me really.

I went in to have an additional ATF cooler installed and had a service done on the tranny at the same time. The it starts splitting and popping ATF hoses and dropping its fluid. Tomorrow it goes in to have the pump resealed and possibly a rebuild from when the ATF has been dropped. :evil:
