Hey guys,
we started our trip in Townsville 3 days ago when we realized that our AC is not cooling anymore. With some time pressure and not working front windows we had to fight our way all the way to Alice in the last days. As soon as we arrived, we noticed that the rear left shock absorber has gone off. We realized that because the car was vibrating when accelerating between 0 and 40 kmh. We bought a new high tensile bolt, put the shock absorber back on the right place, but we noticed that the vibrations are still there.
Any Idea on what that could be and how we could fix it here in the nowhere?
This is now one of the 3 problems we got here in Alice Springs.
The second one is the AC. we had it at a local car electrician and they pressure tested it and checked the compressor with an external power source and both is fine. We told us that there is probably a faulty wire somewhere, we might be lucky by playing with the harness and get it to the right spot so it works again. Any advice on that one?
the last one is something we got since we went down from Fraser island. The left rear tire mechanisms is making very ugly noises when the car is at a low speed. As soon as we hit 20 to 30, the noise is away. It's hard to describe but it clonks with every wheel spin and the sound is kind of metallic. I saw that the round metal plate that is shown in the picture is slightly cracked on one side. It could be this, based on the sound, but i cant imagine how this would actually generate the sound.
If you read my older threads you can probaly imagine that i am kind of tired of fixing the car, i just want it to work and i already put too much money into it.
If anyone could just give me small advice on any of those topic, i would really really appreciate it. I was never a mechanic, the car is forcing me to understand cars more and more with the time because i need to fix many things but in germany we would say now: i am done with my latin. i have no clue on what to do next.
Cheers
