I started on dirt bikes as a kids like many I guess. Honda VT250 was my first wheels in Sydney. GSX 750 to BMW K100 fun. Sold it in Perth when buying a house[bigsad]

Got a scooter Jan 2018 when my disco turned to a golf ball on the outside in a hail storm+++
Was supposed to sell it when the replacement Disco arrived but it was to much fun and the kids refused to allow me to[thumbsupbig]

110cc was rather funny trying to get to 100 on the freeway. It did but only just and only after several km! Got an idea to grab a vintage me bike. A nice 1967 gussie from a cool gent on this site was very keenly wanted but not offered after initial chat. I did not want a new bike. My new disco has closed to 300,000km so a few years on a bike would not bother me. A Honda CBR 600 1999 with a carburetor is now getting a road worthy. Welcoming my self back to bike with GEARS [biggrin] Scooter is sold for more than the new ride. Happy days for me. Top speed will need some nerves - speed limit sounds a much better idea for me. Welcome back to the fold, you probably never really left, but hey it feels good to go riding again CBR is a great bike and of course got all that Honda reliability, have fun.
Don't forget pics of the bike, I had a 96 CBR600 with the intention to race it, even bought all the fibreglass fairing front guard seat and ducktail, but never got around to it, still got all the fibreglass under the house, oh yeah owned a K100 myself well 2 actually, great bikes.

Me and the daughter are going to Bigga(NSW) for the weekend with a bunch of guys from the ADV Forum to the "DR MUSTER" going the long way with some dirt involved, Lunch at Taralga Pub(great food there) then off to Bigga.

I sold my scooter today. RWC con job had the left brake leaver replaced. Scooter was 12 months old and very dropped! 6 guys all laughted at the idea that anything needed replacement!

The buyer followed me home on a girlfriends scooter as a pillion passenger. On 60, 70 or 80 kph roads she sat on 40Kph with buses, trucks and cars tail gating them. Honestly frighting watching it while waiting for them to catch up were it was safe for me. I tried to explain riding at the speed limit is safer. She felt scared doing more than 40. Emailed them a list of rider courses tonight. Bad feelings for some very smart girls wanting to do ubber eats for some cash!

WOW temporary Australians by the sound of that, you have to wonder how some survive looking at some of the people out there riding bikes, I cringe when I see some of the dumb things they do.

Somehow I think your email will be ignored, sad really because these courses are really helpful, even if you're an experienced rider as well, I did a refresher course last year myself and dragged the daughter along too, just makes you more confident, certainly help the daughter that's for sure.

Baz.Say Gday to Denise at Bigga pub for me, I lived there for a while awsome place! Lots of swamp wallabies out there be careful on the roads. And be carful where you trot theres a lot of unfenced property along the roads and lots of poachers out there in the forest you dont wanna be mistaken for one!

800km on the CBR yesterday and today- Mothers day excuse for some fun. Bike was fine. My legs did not like 2 hours plus in the almost racing possition. Its a lot like my treddlies. Mountain bike and road bike ar good for fours hour + rides. A Time Trail bike I used in Long course Triathlon which is very Areodynamicly good due to the controntionist possition of my body, is a lot faster than m other treddlies but heck it feels like torture after 100km in that position [tonguewink]
Oddly found the Dry Rider jacket top fine, the pants felt colder than I like. Being a scrawny running nut my fat stores are a bit lower than most. My need thermals in winter for long runs.

My last bike BMW k100RS was a smooth touring machine. The CBR is so much quicker but the riding possition is possibly a younger persons prefereance passing the 200km mark [biggrin]

Over taking is faster than my DISCO by a few 1000 %. The noise level when passing is a lot louder than the BMW and it turns heads a little more than I like. Thats in top gear as well as the pick up with out droping gears is honestly amazing to my slow joe prior bikes. I have still have a margin on 3-4 thousand revs to the red line to consider. Suspect given its 20 years old that might be an area to leave alone.

The kids think high revs noise even well uner the red mark is a bit scary as well. They demanded a lift to school in the morning so it most not be that bad. [bigwhistle]

The intermediate and advanced riding courses are a great investment.

I did the RADSKILLS intermediate in Adelaide when I bought the Ducati and, apart from having a great time, it was a good refresher. I must admit to enjoying outbraking the young blokes on their gixxers as well...
