Tow hitch

Our new (to us) Freelander 2 has the standard LR tow package fitted (at least there are 2 electrical sockets and a receiver with a LR plug in it), but there were no accessories supplied with the car (assume either stolen, lost, or kept and flogged separately by the place we bought it).

I measured the the receiver and it’s a 40mm... which appears to be a non standard size vs the hayman reese tongue / ball available at local generic parts store.

3 questions:
1) can I get any 40mm tongue / ball
2) is there any benefit to finding a LR one
3) any suggestions of where to get one from?

I have a ‘genuine’ LR tow bar on my FL2. It appears to be made by Hayman Reece. Mine also has a 40mm hitch which is identical to a HR21134 hitch.

Repco only have 50mm hayman reese

ebay has 40mm but non brand and am wary of buying something that might fail!

HR pointed me to one of their dealers. I’m in Penrith NSW and they suggested Formula OffRoad at St Mary’s. I would think you could get something from ARB.
