Had to remove the throttle body on my 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 to replace a leaking thermostat.
Attached image is what I found.

Interestingly I have had the EGR blanked for the last 80,000 Km.
Is this likely to point to a failing turbo?

It does not use any visible amount of oil between oil changes, but I am changing every 10,000km.

I did clean the removable parts with a can of throttle body cleaner.

Has anyone tried one of those throttle body top-end cleaning systems ?

Regards,
Richard

Yep. Mine was full of crud too.
Felt good to clean it out but had no noticeable effect.
Had done about 200,000kms. Not sure if it had been cleaned before.
