The Live Axle Iveco Daily 4x4 has ceased production ( last September.) The IFS model is on the way.

50:1 Low Low 1st instead of 101:1 ,, Dual range Transfer Case instead of Quad Range . 33 degree gradability instead of 45 degree.

Upside is still has 3 x Diff Locks, now have option of 8 Speed ZF Auto & Vented discs all round (finally)

No More 37" tyre option ,

The Daily has turned into a softroader instead of a Capable 4x4 .

Some photos of the New IFS model ( Like the chop top - sadly not a civvy option) Note Forklift lifting one wheel until other comes off the ground , Wheel Travel sucks.

Compared to articulation of my old model with factory standard parabolic springs and live axles.

Looks to me like all of the wheels are off the ground - have a look at the right rear - so likely not an indication of its actual articulation.

Nice Pickup. But if one wheel is drooping with gravity & the other is lifted with Forklift surely that is the extent of wheel travel ? .

Heres one with the forklift on the rear live axle, so maybe not as that is not showing any movement at all .

Looks to me like they've got both left hand wheels up in the air on hydraulic lifts, and then those stands under the axles aren't going to allow any articulation. I'd guess this set up was to allow people to see what they've done under the vehicle rather than demonstrate the flex in the suspension.

Edit: yes, but I agree that it'd be great if the standard one had more ground clearance. Why can't they fit portals? It doesn't have to have 500mm of ground clearance like the Unimogs, but even 350mm would be better than anything else around.

I wonder to what extent they have de-bugged the vehicle? I could live with a lessened off-road ability more than I could live with the apparent design faults that could strand the vehicle in the middle of a desert.
