The standard tyre on a 6.5Jx16 steel wheel is Michelin XZL 7.50R16.
Can you fit a Michelin 255/100 R16 tyre on this wheel?

What is Michelins minimum rim width recommendation for that tyre?
FWIW I used to run 255/85R16 tyres on that rim
