Hi All,

Loosely looking to upgrade to a D4. Made the mistake of driving one when picking up a new water outlet housing at Southerns. Gee, they go well......

I've done a bit of looking and have some information about compatibility of D3 and D4 accessories.

Question I have is regarding the long range tank. From what I gather there is a difference in the rear of the chassis on the D4 that means it's not compatible and that a D3 tank will hang lower. Now, does anyone know if you can modify the mounting point to make it suitable?

Thanks in advance....

Not first hand , but i have seen the same tank advertised to suit both vehicles.

Thinking about it with what sellers print as working, fitting or matching , that prolly means they dont fit both [tonguewink][tonguewink][bighmmm]

Cheers Ean

I think a call to Long Ranger on Monday might be a good thing.

I think a call to Long Ranger on Monday might be a good thing.

It would look like the Long Ranger Landrover Discovery 2005-Current | The Long Ranger (http://thelongranger.com.au/landrover/discovery/2005-current) and Long Range Automotive Landrover Discovery III, Landrover Discovery IV 108L Auxiliary (https://longrangeautomotive.com.au/Landrover-Discovery-III-Landrover-Discovery-IV-108L-Auxiliary~249#3917b49e-37dd-460b-b568-ff51c4d575f7) tanks are the same between D3 & D4.

So providing you have the same part number tank I’d say it’ll fit. BUT if they changed the design of the original D3 tank when the D4 was released so that it could fit both models and yours was an original D3 tank it may not fit [bigwhistle]
