Anyone else having problems with firefox addons, adblock is disabled and when trying to download a replacement i just get an error message saying download failed check your internet connections.
Even trying to add a browser extension from other sites fails, system restore was no help.

Same here. I suspect that having disable Adblock today, 90% of the world's Firefox users are trying to all download a replacement at the same time!

Wasting your time trying to download any add-ons at the moment. From Mozilla:-

Certificate issue causing add-ons to be disabled or fail to install (https://discourse.mozilla.org/t/certificate-issue-causing-add-ons-to-be-disabled-or-fail-to-install/39047)

Just going to have to wait for the fix. There is a work around, people can google it if they want but it leaves your system open to exploitation, particularly if people forget to reverse the workaround later on.

I got the same issue - all of a sudden ads are everywhere and when I try to load a new ad blocker the upload fails.

I came here looking for a solution but I guess it is just wait and see.

As my firefox updates automatically - is there a way to roll back to an earlier version without loosing all your bookmarks Etc

I tried system restore hoping to get an earlier Firefox version but it failed.

Looks like a major faux pas on Mozilla's part.

"We rolled out a hotfix that re-enables affected add-ons. The fix will be automatically applied in the background within the next few hours. For more details, please check out the update at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-ons-failing-install-firefox"

Hopefully by the morning it'll be business as usual, but I have No Script and Video Download Helper no worky atm.

Clicking on Options > Content blocking > Strict has kept most of the ads away from me at the moment.

I went into "preferences", ticked "studies" (under "Privacy and security", "Firefox data collection and use"), and now have it working again. (You can untick it again once it is working)

you neeed to to two updates on FF to fix the issue, and restart twice
