I have just returned form a 2 week trip where I got to check out the 150watt flexible panel that I bought a while ago.
To my disgust it only showed a max of 6 amps and more generally 5 amps which is less than my previous 120watt folding panel. The reason I have a flexible panel is that I can lay it flat on top of the bed of my rear fold camper trailer and have stiffened it with a aluminium frame. At 3kg This beats the bulk and 14Kg weight of the folding panel being under the bed although it would put out 7 amps under ideal conditions.
To complicate matters I have found my GSL MPPT controller goes to float at 14.1 volts, which then reduced the input to my 100AH Century wet deep cycle battery to about 2 amps, which meant that it never recharged fully. I have bought a cheapo MPPT controller that claims to go to float at 14.5 volts. We shall see.
I have looked allover Ebay and Google looking for a genuine 200-240 watt flexible panel ie a 200 watt that will put out 10 amps or more. I get to the negative comments on ebay to find lots of people complaining that the panel outputs from normally good suppliers are nothing like claimed.
I have looked at Sunyee who claim to have a real 200watt panel.
My question is does anyone have good experience with a 200-240 watt flexible panel actually putting out 10 amps plus?
