Cargo clutch fluid

Have to admit, feeling stupid on this one. ~6 months ago replaced clutch slave and rebuilt master. After a good bleed no issues. Today, after a few hot days, the clutch went 3/4 to the floor in the morning, which is unusual. By afternoon, found myself unable to get into gear. Pulled off the road to find an empty reservoir. Filled, pumped ~20 times and for the past few hours it has resumed normal operation.

What wiuld account for the (seemingly) overnight loss, but would then retain fluid once refilled???

If it was mine I would be looking for a slow unseen leakage & would first look at the drain hole in the bell housing & your garage floor.

But then, I don't have a Cargo.

Check for location of fluid loss Todd. Have you still got the bung in the bottom of the flywheel housing? If so remove it and only refit if you are doing deep water crossings. If the fluid is in the flywheel/bell housing it means the slave cylinder is leaking. If around the clutch pedal inside the cab it is the master cylinder. It can only be one of these two places. Sometimes a master rebuild can be the problem.
