As a land rover owner I have been offered (by friends) a "great little project". It's a lightweight radio vehicle with radio rack and plenty of spares. Currently in pieces but looks to be in good condition. I was hoping someone might be able to tell me what I should offer so to not offend the family while still leaving me money in the back pocket for those unplanned costs. I don't know the exact model yet but will post more info as it comes to hand.

Welcome to the forum. Chassis number and pics will help identify and value it.

Interesting, LandRover Lightweight was not a 'thing' until late 1969 , with some pre-production versions earlier that year & prototype in 1968.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Not knowing much about the lightweights I took the families word on its age. I hope to get more details in the next few days including the chassis number. I appreciate the interest that I have received already and I see many more lads on this website have a passion for these great vehicles.

Nice one! I will look him up, thanks. At the end of the day I just wanted to make sure I wasn't buying a headache and that if I couldn't complete the resto project myself for any reason that the vehicle held some value.

Thanks again

Heres mine, also started life as a FFR , '73 model , but almost identical to a '78 model.
The Lightweight was never in service is Australia so is a rare thing here.
