Without any warning or impact my TDV6 exhaust pipe snapped right at the exhaust manifold, there is no sign of corrosion either.

Few question - horsepower/torque responsible or possibly manufacturing fault? Does it makes sense to take it up with JLR guys (or waste of time)? Any recommendations on how to get it fixed without paying couple of thousands (in Sydney)?

Is there a missing mounting bracket anywhere you can see?

Yikes. Any good exhaust or fab shop should be able to clean it up and TIG weld it back together but you need to figure out why it happened in the first place. Maybe manufacturing fault, but to crack all the way around I would guess something is moving excessively... how much is your engine moving under load e.g. bad motor mounts?

I had a pipe snap at the back just before the silencer, no reason, everything fine, noticed the outlet was higher then normal when washing, took to the local exhaust guy, he ran a bead on it and off I went 50 cash. Mines a 2011 d4 , been in beach, it's decent material, no rust or corrosion

And replace the big muffler in the middle with a stright through pipe....[biggrin] "yes honey, it was required as part of the reapir....Oh, it's louder? Not sure how that happened...."

Fit a completely new 3" 409 stainless system from the turbo back, gain some HP and makes a great sound (apparently).
I'm saving for mine...

nothing, just a clean snap.
