Anyone had experience with boost rings for the ve pumps? Doest it just adjust pump timing at full.throttle? How many rings have you used. What were the results.

the boost ring is a component of the boost compensator and adjusts the preload on the spring and the start position of the eccentric cam.
not really needed if you set it up right, just easier to set it up right at the cost of some of the original freedom.

The idea is that is allows a higher maximum timing advance which is only useful if you have higher than stock fueling. It is not only a spring pressure change. Whether or not they are designed correctly is unknown as the sellers have not performed dyno testing to determine the best amount of advance.

It has nothing to do with the boost compensator. It is a ring that spaces out the stop for the dynamic timing.

depends.
are you talking about the dynamic ring kit or the one that fits onto the spring and eccentric.?
the one that messes with the dynamic timing is also suitable for the NA versions of the pump. Its got about as much to do with boost as the phrase "low rpm torque" has to do with rotaries.
on the edit------
its also known as a timing spacer or timing ring.

I understand how it all works and they are calling them boost rings.
