[b]Hi, everyone
Dr Jon Jenkins the ORP member of State Parliament is trying to get together a huge petition to prevent, and even reverse, land closures.

"Largest Ever Petition

As a final act in this session of Parliament I would like to present the largest ever petition in Australian political history.

The petition does not criticise any political party rather it simply asks the Parliament to stop locking up access to public land and waterways.

It does not matter whether you are a fisherman, bushwalker, camper, horse rider, kayaker, 4WDer, scuba diver or cyclist this is a way of sending a message to governments of all persuasions about how important your recreation is.

Copies of the petition can be found on the website:
www.trac.org.au/petition.pdf .

Please ask everyone you know including family, friends, workmates and customers to sign and return it.

You do not need a stamp and the petition does not need to be full."

Dowload it, sign it and pass it around, then send it in to his Freepost address which is recorded on the bottom of the petition.

Forward the document to as many people as you can.

About time someone did this. I don't suppose there is much point in us interstate people signing this one ....or is there?

All people should sign the petition. Many interstate people would like to use the extensive (and closed) network of tracks in NSW. I used to do a lot of trail bike riding and 4wding around the border , North East Vic and NSW. We got lost one time from missing an overgrown track and ended up in the Kosiosko Nat Park for a while until we could find a track south. A few days latter we were talking to a Parks Vic guy and said where we had been. He said he is not even game to go in there and would be fined as any other person would if caught. I remember a fantastic lot of tracks that are only available to management vehicles. what a load of rubbish.
These days even the Vic side has Wilderness areas that have severely restricted the public enjoying the beautiful country around there. Still, people vote for greens and labor so what do you expect. The only way to reverse the shut areas is to change the governments and remove the greens power over the labor governments.

A good idea, i've downloaded it, in NSW NPWS don't have the staff or money to look after all these areas, in fact the're struggling to look after what they have now let alone more area, so you'll have buckleys chance of them opening any more tracks.

This is probably the most important thing happening on the “land Lock up Front” at the moment at last the ordinary people those who go out in the bush and oceans for there leisure have a chance to show a united front to the morons who think that

If we lock this land, ocean up so no one can get in it will be ok.

Now its up to us we have the chance to do something

SO GO OUT AND DO SOMETHING

So far I have put copies in our local shop, servo, and taking one down to the local four wheel drive shop this arvo its not enough but at least its SOMETHING.
