Last night I watched a dvd my son was watching of the 4wd action mob driving off road now I don't know where they were as I didn't watch for long theses num nuts just ripped the ringer out of the bush and thought it was great. I was some what ****ed that my son thought this was normal in the bush and expressed my opion that theses ******* are the reason we as 4 wheel drivers get locked out of the land we love I told my son the best place for that dvd was the bin it seems the tread lightly campaign has fallen by the way side and dvd's like theses play into the hands of the do gooder greenies this sort of thing just in my option just gives the pollies and greenies ammo to use against us. theses num nuts should be ashamed of there actions and the message they are sending to the younger generation that it's ok to abuse our bush I think there nothing more then environmental terrorist and *******.:bat:

What happend to just exploring?, look before you leap?, close the gate? and "leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but photographs"?
Same issue with my young bloke.
I always remind him when i'm called to drag the remains of his vehicle home.

I can't watch the vary majority of those shows as they demonstrate knuckle-dragging juvenile disrespect at a high level. Climbing up and over monuments that are chained-off, smashing through tracks at maximum attack, dragging entire households with them despite travelling solo. Idiotic. What happened to a swag and maybe a fridge or Esky? Seems to be all about the toys and tearing up tracks whilst travelling as fast as possible. If anyone can recommend shows that are sensible, please advise as I'd watch those. I love seeing the places they go but can't abide the way they do it. But I guess that's ratings for you, and the almighty sponsorship dollar...

You could try Youtube channels like Ronny Dahl's, YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChz00vupzP_mNPIYD8GSmBw)
He showcases a lot of places as well as gear.
The Low Range series is very entertaining for the touring minded as well.

I see Roothy is coming back to join Glenn Hadden and Kenny on Low Range - which will be now called Dustemup.
I also see that 4wdaction is now longer in print - only on social media now - youtube, facebook, etc
I've always wondered who pays for all the 4wdaction fuel bills, vehicle maintenance/repairs etc and what salary Graham Cahill and Shawn Whale are on? Surely sponsership can not cover all that.
Then, who pays the expenses for anyone else that tags along on "epic" trips?

4wd Action cops a lot of flack for airing tough tracks which then get pounded by wanna be's. They effectively make money by finding and beating up tracks some of which then get closed or restricted due to over abuse. Just wish people would stop telling them where these tracks are😐
How many times can you watch Shauno crouch over the wheel and nearly fall over due to crap driving technique ☺

My son's mate worked with them a couple years ago but got sick of not being paid. He said many times vehicles got busted eg the D Max CVs but were fixed by sponsors or by locals seemingly happy to help them make money. And yes they make heaps from sponsors you tube subscribers etc. Rumour has it that Shauno had lots of folding stuff from the start b4 joining 4WD Action... (citation needed)😎

The advertisers pay to send vehicles on the trips to get exposure.

Just to add re money..I learnt my boys were paying 10 buck a month to All 4 for first release viewing of their videos but cancelled after they stopped shooting new stuff and simply reposted old stuff. Seems since the TV deal new adventures for subscribers have dropped away. Jase also has a couple other business adventures to manage nowadays.
I think the boys were or are paying towards Dahls 79 series as well😐
Would I pay for content/access...well I do for this and another forum..so I can't tell the boys what to do..can I 😎

Until last month I worked for a 4WD media company...and sponsorship is in six figure sums each year for single brands. The hero cars for established companies are provided by the sponsors-whether Isuzu, Mitsu, VW, Ford, Toyota or what have you, as well as a cash injection, spare parts and servicing. The company/media person often then owns the car outright and gets another next time there's a new model released. The tyre sponsor alone pays a few hundred grand per year. The camper trailer manufacturers pay to have their trailer on the show...but don't you dare sleep in it! The 4WD Action personalities (and others too I imagine) receive a significant sum, several times more than I made in a month, to speak at a 4WD show.
Want to do an install video/article of an abcd whatever? Get the sales team to ring a few sponsors till you get one posted to you. Could be anything from a lithium aux battery to a fridge slide.
It's a very well funded industry...
