The recent question about Xlifter and Llams has raised the question.

i have Llams and think it’s the best thing since sliced bread.
but I’m interested to know when and how people use it.
Im heading north in a few weeks and plan on travelling south down the Hay River Track into Simpson and across to Birdsville.
ive travelled this route in the opposite direction a couple of years ago.
I’ll be towing a Patriot Camper.
in the past I have raised vehicle on Llams in desert area, crossing dunes etc.
What do people do or suggest.
I’m interested in people experience and recommendations.
Thanks
Vin

I use it with the camper, pull up put the camper on the jockey wheel lower the car drive off, reverse the procedure when hooking up.

I have mine set at +30 all the time, means there's no need to use the factory offroad modes once you hit the dirt, if the track gets any trickier I use LLAMS to raise the car up one more, the car can handle most terrains without using any modes.

If I am using a mode and go into offroad height, I use LLAMS +30 to give me a bit more height before it turns to crap, I've never used the -20 setting, the car won't fit in any carpark even at -20 so no point really.

Off road height without 40km/h limit. A lot.

Extended or super extended when crossing water especially salt water and rocky sections. Doing some quick work under the vehicle.

Access height -20 for loading the roof rack. Getting my parents in and out. Working on the engine.

Access height -20 in the undercover car park when you realise that last time you didn’t have roof racks. Quick change. With an IID Tool cars would be queuing up behind.

Hooking and unhooking trailers.

Off-road, Combo of the above usually.
Also use -20 on long motorway drives (hoping to improve fuel use, can’t really say if it does save much as motorway use is lower L/100km anyway)
