Hi all following your discussion on resistors for trailers and vans the other week it got me thinking of my D3 and now D4, when I connect up a trailer with conventional globes or the camper with LED's which I had to buy a extra unit to stop the flashing.
My question is on the dash when right indicator is on the green trailer flashers on dash, when left is used no green trailer indicator on dash.
Do I have a problem or is this normal.
Cheers

1st thing - check you dont have a not working globe/LED on the LHS.
If not that, ensure resistors or whatever are connected to both LHS and RHS
After that - out of my depth[bawl]

As above usually means you have a globe out either on the trailer or car.

This extra unit you are talking about may only be connected to the RHS wire. This is still enough for the car to know a trailer is connected.

Which is why the pedant in me meant that when I did it to my vehicle, I put a resister on both the left and the right so I got the trailer icon when I turned in either direction. It is not necessary as RR pointed out
