Has anyone added Bluetooth to factory head unit?

Hello all,
I am looking to add blue tooth capability to my factory head unit so I can stream music. I have seen this done on a few online sources, but haven't found the correct hardware. I am looking to see if anyone out here has done this yet, and if they would be interested to another project, or at least some advice steering me in the right direction.

The model vehicle I have is a 2005 Defender (110). It has the factory Visteon head unit in it, which I want to add bluetooth directly to it in place of the CD function.

Really the best option is to replace the existing head unit with something new that has all the features you want.

You can’t wire directly into the factory unit.
All you can do is add a BTFM (Bluetooth to FM) transmitter, where your phone connects and the BT module then transmits a signal hour radio can tune into.

I would strongly suggest upgrading to an aftermarket unit, the sound quality will be better, integrated BT will allow mobile phone Hands Free also.

I thought about doing the same on the stock stereo in my 2003 disco (to get around sorting out the steering wheel controls) but quickly decided it wasn't viable.

Choose a stereo which has variable colour LEDs and you will get the lighting colours to match the rest of the car.

....Actually you can. There are a umber of threads out there highlighting doing just that with bluetooth modules (basically bluetooth circuit boards) that hijack another of the radio's pathways (tape, CD) to feed the bluetooth pathway through. There is is even a company in the U.S. that does this on Visteon radios (Including Visteon 6500). Unfortunately it is very cost prohibitive with shipping (for me personally) to go this route.
Hence, I am looking for anyone over here who has done this project before, so that I could talk with them regarding choosing an appropriate bluetooth module.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your opinion with me of what you think I should do, but to be politely honest..... I was already aware that an aftermarket unit was an option.
