What material do people use for crackers on stock whips ? The most common seems to be binder twine. Is there something that's just as easy to use but lasts longer ? Please don't direct me to a web site and only answer if you've got personal experience with stock whips. Thank you.

Telstra Rope works OK.....
As you mentioned bailing twine does work good as that was easy for use to get. I could grab some when I’m next out at Boonah.

Thanks for your offer, I've got plenty of baling twine of various colours and thicknesses.

As said above bailing twine, its free [emoji38] I reckon any rough rope will do, Id even try cutting a few hairs of a horses tail thats free too never done it before but i reckon it would work [emoji848]

Still have my grandfather's stock whip.
Yes the cracker was baling twine (50 years ago when he gave it to me) and it was made from cotton (beige coloured).
I can have a look for it in a couple of days because it should still have the same cracker in it.
cheers, DL
