Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right section to post this in but here goes.
Looking for recommendations of garage in Perth region to do this job.
Spoken with rovertech. Boss away but guy didn't sound keen. Sovereign autos in myaree reckoned 8 hours for all 4. Sounds a lot.
Any other ideas? I'm down Rockingham way but can travel anywhere for right service and price.
Thanks

Can’t help with a location, but it’s easily a full days job to do upper and lower, left & right sides. Some mechanics won’t even quote you a price as you pay for how long the job takes.

Try Aztech, Dazza is very good and a regular on here, he's only 30mins from you

It's not a very fun job. Requires removing the front wheels, brake setups, hubs and driveshafts and then the easy part is done. I'd suggest that time estimate is about accurate.

If your mechanically oriented or a I will give it a go person. Buy a ball joint separator kit (ebay is your friend) , google and you tube how to guides and go for it. It can be done only advise on one of the how to videos' the fellow uses a claw hammer to assist in separation. Get a decent BFH and all will go ok. Remember safety first. Other then the separator kit, the only tools from memory were a socket set , safety stands, and ring and open enders for a couple of the hard to get to items.

Also but the new balljoints in the freezer and when you install them heat up the receivers with a blow torch. The new ones, if you’re fast, will literally just drop in without any effort

Thanks all. Looks like I'll be pysching myself up to tackle it. Everywhere I read about it people say what a crap job it is hence thought I'd pay someone to do it. 1000 bucks is a lot tho. Cheers.

From what I remember, I set aside an entire day to do it myself & got it done before dark. I had a friend borrow me a small press. You will definitely need a blow torch tho.

That's because it is. Having done it I feel like I'd really consider going the $1,000.00 route next time, especially if that's including the price of the actual ball joints...
