Looking at buying a 2017 D5 HSE SD4 and am considering adding to the remaining 17 months new car warranty with an extended warranty. What brand policies have others used?

I have read through the one supplied via carsales.com.au and there is an exclusion term saying;

failure arising from Normal Wear & Tear and the gradual reduction in operating performance of the Vehicle orpart

This worries me as many breakages could be seen as having some degree of wear & tear.

What experiences have you all had with claims on extended warranties?

They actually refused to fix it until they'd confirmed with the warranty provider that it wasn't a consumable: no, malfunctioning LEDs aren't a consumable. Then they didn't have an LED in stock. Three days later I got my car back ...
