first of the 4 doors?

when did the rangey 4 doors first offically start production?

reason for asking is we've just picked up a 4 door classic with a build of "march 1982" it (from our limited knowledge) has a vogue interior and is fully optioned - stereo amplifier, oil pressure n temp gauges, rover branded dual battery system with a 3.5 hi-comp and a short shift 4 speed.
