As the topic suggests, is it possible to get a recording of a conversation between my self and my Telstra customer service bud.

Cheers

They say it's recorded for "training" purposes, so I suppose you could ask someone in Customer Service management.

Record it at your end. As long as you start the conversation by letting them know the call is being recorded you're all good. In fact, just tell them it's being recorded even if it isn't. That tends to make people actually pay attention and get it sorted.

I did all my queries / disputes with Telstra online using the chat function, you select a box to get a transcript of the conversation by email .

Customers might not be able to, but the TIO (Telecoms Industry Ombudsman) should if you make a complaint.

Tried it a few years ago with the ANZ after I had given my “personal banker” specific instructions that she failed to act on and cost me a lot of money. They conveniently were unable to recover the recording....

Shouldn’t you be able to use freedom of information act to get from Telstra?

During a dispute with them, I suggested they play back the recording to prove I was right. They couldn't do it, even when I insisted, and subsequently backed down and paid up

Do they even record it?
I reckon they just tell you that so you don't do your Block & start swearing at them!

In saying that when I worked for the Government & told some jumped up clerk in Brisbane what I really thought of her job performance they DID have a recording of that.

They made me do a "Code of Conduct' course, they weren't impressed when I told them me doing the course wouldn't make the person in question able to do their job.
