Well we are in the count down for when our son Brendon moves to Japan to start his dream job (Jet Program).
I think I will be a bit of a mess at the airport. As he is the last one to leave home. But I know he will do well there as he does have some friends over there that he made when he was studying at one of there uni in 2016. Just going to miss him so much and being so far away.

If a parent makes themselves redundant, then they have succeeded in raising an independent person.

Once his room is your new man-cave you'll be feeling better [smilebigeye] Jokes aside, sounds like he is doing well & I'm sure you are proud of his achievements.

Our other son moved out in Jan, we had a flood in the bathroom which went it to the wall and into his room, we are still working on the bathroom. This has be going for last 8 months and still going, then replace wall in other sons room, so man cave might take about another 2 years to do due to Mario's illness.

Well this week is going to be busy, with helping him sorting out clothes and other things he want to take for the first year. At least he is allowed to take 2 x 23kg suitcases, and his carry on. We are still very proud of him, with all his hard work at uni and how he conducted himself in the interview for the Jet program. Well it is only 5 days left before we have to say good bye to him for awhile.[bigsad]

Well we are in the final hours before he leaves. While I was helping him pack his cases last night, Brendon turns and tell me in 48 hours and he will be on the plane. Took all my strength not to burst in to tears [bigsad]

Its very satisfying when the kids mature and go off to make their own futures. Its proof we did a great job raising them. The aim of a parent is to make yourself redundant.
Give yourself a huge Competent grading as a parent. Then go and use the free time to do something you like doing. And plan to visit. We tour our kids.
