Had to go down south today on a business trip, not a long one about 200k's so I decided to see what fuel useage I would get at different speeds each way.
The trip there I did at the designated speed limits the majority of which is 110 Kph and driving as I usually would, the useage was 10.8 litres per 100KM........26.15 Mpg (allright the mathmatican out there 26.155835Mpg)
On the way back I didn't travel abpve 90 Kmh and used the accelerator with decorum and the useage was 9 litres per 100 KM........31.387006 Mpg.
Not bad a 20 % difference.
With fuel prices as they are that is quite significant.
Incidentally if any one wants to convert Km/litre to Mpg just multiply by 2.8248306

Hi Richard, that’s about what happens with my RR.
Drive at around 100 to 110 kph and on a long trip I can get 9.1 lt's per 100 kms ( best trip figures ) but going out west, where I often pull 130, the fuel economy takes a nose dive.
I’ve not yet done a trip of any distance at 80 kph, just can’t control myself to travel at that speed for any length of time.
Your fuel use around town shouldn’t be to bad either.
Cheers.
PS. I am now thinking maybe I should have bought an SE TDV6 instead of the V6 petrol, although I think the feeling of using more fuel is actually more down to the fact that you fill up often because of the small tank more so than the amount of fuel being used.

FWIW on our LROC Simpson crossing just completed the D3 petrol used 180 litres Mt Dare to Birdsville.
Best was myself and a Disco 200 tdi - we both used 93.01 litres. That confused the attendant!

Best I've done was 7.8l/100km on a 75k run @ 110kph. Usually around 9.5-10.
With the roof rack it's now around 12l/100km.

Just imagine what economy a D3 would get if it was 500KG lighter!!!
What a lost opportunity.
Especially since Ford also owns Jaguar which has the lightest cars in their class. They have the technology but not the will.

For me around town with Cooper STTs - 12.5lt/100km
Highway - 11.5lt/100km without the roof rack and tent
I've never acheived less than 10lt/100km even with the road tyres on a tank of diesel.
Overall 11.86lt/100km over 25,660km. 8O This includes city driving, 4WDing, highway driving and numerous trips to the Dealer https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Should have clarified!. These figures are for country driving. Around town I get 11.5km/litre no roofrack and 12.5-13.5 with roofrack.

If it makes any difference I have 265 70 R17 BFG A/T's, a bigger rolling diameter so perhaps the computer is showing a little better than what it is.
Jamo, what size tyres have you got on :?: :?:

Here I go again!
The figures I quoted are for the wranglers.
With the Coopers on, I can usually add around another 0.5l/100km.
Funnily enough the rooftop tent doesn't seem to add much more than for the roofrack by itself.
I've got the 36,000km service coming up, so I'll see what happens after they put the latest software mapping in.
BTW taking the plunge ordering the Kaymar bar and twin wheel carriers. When they're on I'll post a pic! https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

IF there is a software upgarde it will be on the latest WDS disk that they should be using with the T4 testbook to 'tune' the car. I don't know the details, but I know from disco3.co.uk that the latest mapping should be uploaded at each service.
Here are the prices. I can post the photo's that they sent me after the gallery is working again.
