View Full Version : Defender front bumpers. Have they changed from Tdi days?

Hi All

A mate is going to repair my bull bar and since he is doing me a big favour and saving me precious $ I want to give him all the time he needs. Thing is I need to re-licence my Landy and so I have sourced a cheap front bumper to get it over the pits.

Question: I have a Tdi, does anybody know if I need to make sure that I get a Tdi bumper and not a TD5 bumper? I can't look at my car and see if it will fit as I do not have it.

cheers

Doubt there is any difference in the chassis, only the ext housing for the radiator like a county.

Bumper should be identical.

Or at least interchangeable - but I can't remember the last time I saw one without a bull bar!

The bullbar that came with my 2003 Xtreme went onto Chris Wilson's 300 Defender OK.

I think a couple of mounting holes had to be redrilled, but otherwise painless from memory.

There is a slight difference but it's only cosmetic IIRC.... There's a pair of plastic end caps that fit on either end of the TD5 bumper.

Shame you are in Perth as I have a 1997 defender front bar in the shed. Like most I had an ARB bar fitted and I now have the original spare. Any takers? https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
