There all in the Leafy Eastern Suburbs of Sydney , thats where.

Ive been staying in Dover Heights for the last week, Theres a nice 110 SVX 2 doors up, and on the 2.5km 1/2 hour School run theres 3 x Puma 90's . And a detour to a coffee stop at Rose bay a brand new Jimni another 110 & and older 90 in Parisi's car park. (PS Jimni owner was visibly shocked when I approached & asked about his car, no he does not want to swap it for the Iveco)

More Defenders seen here in the last week than I've seen in the last 10 years ( except for last time I was on grandpa duty here, an equal number of Defenders spotted )

I see the new LR2020 thing is going to be right at home here. The Iveco is parked in the street while i'm driving this red E-Pace thing for the school run, no one even bats an eyelid.

Also a lot on the Northern Beaches where our son is at Bilgoela Heights. Down the road one house has both a 110 and a Disco, another 110 a couple of blocks away and two D4s in the son's street.

Hello from Brisbane.

Just back from a month in Southern Africa and before that a run from Brisbane to Darwin.

On the latter trip I saw three Defenders cf a hundred or so Toyota’s.

In Namibia just five Land Rovers cf several hundred Toyota’s.

South Africa did us proud - maybe thirty Land Rovers for possibly more than five hundred Toyota’s.

Am I sensing a trend here?

Thank god the trendy leafy suburbs are still giving a safe haven....,

Cheers,

Neil

I notice Land Rovers on my USA tours. Other than RR's and a few Discos in my last three trips I sighted one real Land rover, an SIII 88" hardtop parked outside Harrah's in Reno opposite the Elvis wedding chapel. Looked very tidy and original. Lots of poseur RR's in Santa Monica, Malibu, Southern Bay Beaches, Orange County and beaches. Huge dealership in Hermosa Beach but not a real Land Rover on the lot.

When you next take the open top bus tour of Doomadgee don't miss the red light district.

I should feel insulted,
But I don't. :)
We have dusty suburbs, does that count?
What about fly infested suburbs?
The Open Top Tour Bus is due to rust!
Big, like HUGE, Mango trees here though.

I can't imagine it has a red light district, unless it has traffic lights?

Right at the main intersection. You can't miss. Central Station on one corner, Greyhound bus terminal, Westfield Mall, and Dan Murphy's next to the KFC.[bigwhistle]

All it needs is a Golden Arches, to be a city, then.

Compared to Sydney I think Melbourne is crawling with Defenders.

Don't see too many in Hobart though - just heaps and heaps of Subaru Foresters

5 Defenders within one kilometre of where I live in South Hobart!

Peter.

Hello from Brisbane.

There’s a surprising number of old Land Rovers plodding around the US and Canada.

On my own travels I’ve come across a few here and there plus visited quite a few owners through club contacts.

One of my best hauls was last autumn in the small village of Quechee in Vermont. Came across six Series 2As in about 15 minutes. Mainly 88”’s but also a very nice 109” wagon. All out on the road.

Cheers,

Neil

Hi 4xsama,

5 Defenders within one kilometre of where I live in South Hobart!

Peter.

I'm heading to Tas on Thurs to pick mine up (and the dogs) from the parents house in Strickland Ave. There's one that parks near the badminton centre but otherwise I see very few (believe me,
I am looking for them). When I was at school they were quite common and then the 80 Series 'Cruiser came out.

When we head back to the mainland, I am thinking of heading back to Devonport via Bothwell/Liawenee etc. Forecast is for 2dec C to -2 deg. I'm keen to go that way but if its too icy we will have to go to slow and might miss the boat.
