Maybe he necked himself when there was no Forum - Ace - are you OK - we're back :D It's alright

OMG we're back - yes I feel very Green and a newbie. I'm sure there'll be a rash of complaints!!!
It's just change - it feels weird, looks different - it'll be "old hat" to us in no time.

There is a host of new features available on here, everything from birthdays to being able to download topics. Avatars seem to have disapeared for now, but they aren't hard to redo really.

Incisor has done a great job, and i'm told there is more to come

Hmm... still no go. It isn't personal - so here it is... (in reference to your last PM in regards to the jumpers)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++===
Yep - no worries - and no hurry!! I scored an original Land Rover jumper off eBay last night - so I'll be right for a while .... What a ripper!

hehe..

This is the photo of my sick Landy - it has nothing to do with anything, I just wanted to see how to post a picture from my PC. All panel work has been completed and just waiting to get engine back in - waiting for some clutch parts that I am replacing while the engine is out. The I have to get new tyres, then the dreaded pit insprection.

What is going on with the menu down the side and having to scroll to the bottom of the screen to move the main part of the box from one side to the other. Its a pain in the but, the menu isnt the problem, but can the main screen be made the width of the rest of the page so when you are typing you dont need to scroll left or right to read things? Matt

G'day Dave,

Being fussy..... to try and help make this an even better site...

One thing I do find annoying is the behaviour when you click the reply button.

It sends you to the BOTTOM of the reply page - when you need to type your reply at the TOP!

I don't think this is something dumb I have set up in my options......... but it wouldn't be the first time. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Not a big issue.... just one of those little niggles that may be worth looking at if it's configurable.

Maybe the run away Avatars.... took the issue with them!

I noticed the problem disappeared earlier but I didn't associate it with the loss of the portal.

yeah looks fine but it isnt doing the job...

many users cant login using their old nicknames as the password conversion and no matter what you try they cant use that username. have put in a support ticket but they havent gotten back to me.

building a vbulletin board in the background and will be importing this into it when i have it ready.

so everybody needs to make sure their email address is correct in their control panel as i am going to have to ditch the passwords so the users currently locked out can get back in..

Hmmm

LATEST migration seems to have resulted in - lots of code with no effect in previous posts; slightly slower than the immediately previous version (which I liked better but who cares what I think), format this time not too different to original but not as clear as the immediately previous incarnation to this one, name / location etc across top of posts now rather than at left, avatars have disappeared.

Hmm.

Let me make one more important point.

Thanks very much Incisor for your ongoing efforts to get this place up and running with full functionality. We (I confidently speak for all of us) truly appreciate it.

Have you got any hair left ? I'd imagine you've pulled it all out days ago.

Could this be you....

Hey Incisor - thanks for the effort. vBulletin is OK by me!

I actually like the general layout better than that of Invision PB.

I also construct these sites (mainly as Mambo/Joomla portals) - and have done the Saab Car Club www.saabclub.org.au (http://www.saabclub.org.au%29), Sydney Jeep Club www.sydneyjeepclub.com (http://www.sydneyjeepclub.com%29), Aussie Jeep Images www.aussiejeepimages.com (http://www.aussiejeepimages.com%29), my site www.omaroo.net (http://www.omaroo.net) and several other sites that are not car-related www.thebasketfactory.com.au (http://www.thebasketfactory.com.au) and www.blackqueen.net.au (http://www.blackqueen.net.au%29). It's a total PITA at times, but once you see them causing people to interact, it's all worthwhile.

Thanks again for providing a platform for us here!

OK,
now I am getting a little confused. first we had a new green forum (which I liked) and was really fast, then we had a blue one, then we had a blue portal? one, with a different front page instead of the forum page but that seemed to slow down alot. Now we have just a blue forum page which is not as fast as the first green one. I notice that alot of the regulars are not posting much either, perhaps they are confused as well? I also seem to have joined in Jan 1970 as did everyone else!

The patron saint of the site was having issues with the previous site format and in his vast wisdom has transferred it across to a new vehicle...form (colour) has taken a lower priority to functionality...a whole bunch of existing members had been excluded.

We should be grateful that it is here at all.
