I have been wrestling with a new wiring loom for a 88” 2a.
Of course there are no notes with the loom - and I have just come up with my first query.
The wiring diagram in the manuals have the following identifications on the regulator.

However the new regulator (same as my old one) is labelled as this -

I have looked around and can’t seem to find a translation. Does anyone have one handy?

7Just had a quick look at your regulator from what I see
E earth
D dynamo output
Wl warning light/ generator run light
F generator field
B battery and ammeter
To check warning light operation connect a power source to the wire, using a power source with a fuse inline, this will prevent damage if the circuit is wrong. The light light should go out on the dash if you have the correct wire.
A1 should be from ignition switch to regulator in the old system and warning light
A ammeter
I have included a wiring circuit to cross reference it may help it is from Lucas wiring training course.

The second is from the Dynamo and Regulator testing document which has your new regulator in it.

Hope this helps Gippy

The regulator you show is not the original, presumably been replaced some time in the past. Do you still have the original generator?
I am pretty certain you need to connect the wires intended for both A and A1 to B on the regulator. Other connections are the same.

Thanks Guys
I’ll carefully go through the advice and see where I end up.

Sorry I missed the question - yes I still have the original genny. It seems that it worked fine before -
So I’ll work it out again I guess.
